Werner E. Zick Funeral services for Werner E. Zick were held Friday, July 18th at the Holman-Winje Funeral Home in Appleton. Rev. Dan Abrahams officiated at the 2 p.m. services. Mrs. Leonard Massee, organist, and Miss Darcy Holman, soloist, provided special music. Pallbearers were Lawrence Hamann, Arthur Hamann, Robert Kohler, Arnold Strube, W. E. Strube and Martin Schmidt. O. E. Lilevjen played taps and the American Legion Post presented the flag for the military services. Interment was in the Holloway Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Zick died July 15, in Minneapolis. He was 48 at the time of his death. Werner E. Zick was born in the Holloway area on September 30, 1927, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Erwin Zick. He grew up in Holloway and attended the Holloway school. He was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Holloway. He served in the army during the Korean conflict. He was employed by the Chamis Paper Co., Omaha, Nebraska, and worked in the Council Bluffs, Iowa area for the last 15 to 20 ears. Survivors include his uncle, Edwin Kohler; two aunts, Mrs. Martha Hamann and Mrs. Evelyn Reuss; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Out of town people at the funeral were from Council Bluffs, Iowa; Holloway, Benson, Ortonville, Minneapolis and St. Paul, all in Minnesota.
