FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: ========================================================================= Obituary Thursday March 15, 1923 Long Prairie Leader “Mrs. Laura Gadbaw, more familiarly known as Grandma Gadbaw, was born in Ames, Athens County, Ohio, October 26, 1835. She died at Osakis February 27, 1923, at twenty three minutes past nine in the evening. Her maiden name was Laura Glazier. She reached the ripe old age of 87 years, 4 months and one day. She grew up in her home community and was married to Lewis Buck at Carthage, Athens County Ohio, April 21, 1860. To them two sons were born, who survive her. They are Gilbert H. Buck of Osakis and James W. Buck of Atwood, Kansas. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one sister and one brother, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. Lewis Buck died April 6, 1866 , at Carthage Ohio. November 5, 1868, the little family moved to Macon County, Missouri, and resided there until January 1882, when they came to Todd County, settling on a farm near Oak Hill, Leslie Township. On August 5, 1889, she was married to Julius Gadbaw, who died January 9, 1916. Mrs. Gadbaw was a consistent and devoted Christian. Her sweet disposition and faith in God should be an incentive to her family, her friends and her acquaintances to live that of a noble life which gives you peace and contentment that nothing else can give. The pallbearers at her funeral were old neighbors. They were E.A. Curtis, J.W. Oliver, E.W.
