FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Orsi Submitted: April 2004 ========================================================================= STAPLES WORLD VOLUME XXXVIII THURSDAY SEPT. 13, 1928 A Former Woman Passes Away in Duluth, Sept. 7 Mrs. James Morrison Called to Final Rest at Home of Her Daughter Mrs, James Morrison, well known resident of Staples for over 25 years, died at the home of her daughter in Duluth Friday, September 7th. For several years she had made her home there with her daughter, Mrs. Edward Spencer. Georgia Rice was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on June 3 1861. She was married to James A. Morrison in 1877 at Pine City, Minnesota. Thirteen children blessed this marriage, one son and on daughter having died in infancy. Eight sons and three daughters survive Mrs. Morrison, her husband having died in 1927. The family moved to staples about 25 years ago, having lived at LeSeuer and Watkins, Minnesota. While in Staples, Mrs. Morrison wa actively engaged inchurch and community affairs and will be remembered and missed by her many friends in the city. The sons and daughters who mourn her departure are: Frank and Fred of Staples; George of Moorhead; Claude of Beresford, South Dakota, Elmer and Edward of Los Angeles; James of Omaha Ne., John of Lathbridge, Canada, Jessis Morrisaon, o Dilworth, Bessie Morrison Ickler of Minneapolis, Amber Spencer of Duluth.
