Morrison People of this city were much surprised and pained to learn that J.A. Morrison was dead. Mr. Morrison had been suffering with what appeared to be ear trouble for several days and on Thursday he was taken to the N.P. hospital located at Brainerd where he grew much worse and on Saturday he passed away from hemorrhage of the brain. The remains were brought home on the night train and the funeral was held Monday afternoon from the Methodist church. James Andrew Morrison was born in Charleston, W. Va., March 22, 1851. He was married June 18, 1877 to Georgia Rice at Taylors Farm, Minn., was the father of thirteen children; two of whom died in early childhood. Moved with his parents to southern Minnesota at the age of eight years and has been a resident of this state practically all of his life, and a resident of this city for the past eleven years where he has been in the employ of the Northern Pacific railway company. Deceased is survived by a wife, nine grandchildren, eleven children, three sisters and three brothers. In his earlier life he was a member of the Church of God but since moving to Staples he did not unite with any body but was an earnest worker in anything that pertained to the building up of Christ’s kingdom. NOTE: My ggrandparent. Beth Orsi
