Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Richard Gebhart Pleasant Hill Cemetery transcribed April 2000 by Richard Gebhart This location contains the markers of many original settlers from Tintah and Taylor townships of Traverse County and Campbell and Champion townships of Wilkin county, MN. The cemetery is well maintained. Location: Pleasant Hill cemetery is located in extreme northwestern Traverse county, MN along the Wilkin county - Traverse County boundary. Directions from Wheaton, MN: From the junction of US Highway 75 and MN Highway 27, travel north on Highway 75 for 15.7 miles. Turn left onto MN State Highway 55 and travel west for 3 miles. At the junction of Highway 55 and south Wilkin County road 9, turn left onto south Wilkin County Road 9. NOTE: Highway 55 and north Wilkin County Road 9 intersect 2 miles west of 55 and 75, but do not take this turn to the south, as the dirt road is poorly maintained. Proceed 2 miles south on graveled road, south Wilkin County Road 9 to the Traverse County Line. At the Traverse county line turn left onto the unmarked gravel road. The cemetery can easily be identified in the distance by large pine trees on the south side of the road, approximately 1/2 mile east of the intersection of the two gravel roads. Directions from Fairmount, ND: From the intersection of ND state Highways 127 and 11, proceed east through Fairmount for 3 miles. Shortly after crossing the Bois de Sioux River and entering Minnesota, you will come to the intersection of south Wilkin county road 9 and MN State Highway 55 (Highway 55 begins at the river). Turn left, onto south Wilkin County Road 9, and proceeds on this gravel road 2 miles south to the Traverse County Line. At the county line turn left onto the unmarked gravel road. The cemetery can easily be identified in the distance by large pine trees on the south side of the road, approximately 1/2 mile east of the intersection of the two gravel roads.
