Sullivan, Florence, Mazeppa, was born in Madison county, New York, June 25, 1858, and was but three years old when he came to Minnesota. His education was furnished by the common schools, and he remained on the farm till of age. He was married in 1875, to Rachael Woy, born in Jo Daviess county, Illinois. Mrs. Sullivan's father, Enos Woy, was one of the pioneers of Wabasha county, and now resides at Providence, this state. Mr. Sullivan was engaged in farming till 1881, when he settled in this village. He is a member of Mazeppa lodge, I.O.O.F., and in politics is a democrat. He was reared in the Roman Catholic church, but does not now give allegiance to that sect. Two children have been born to him, christened as follows: January 19, 1879, Lillian; January 17, 1883, Frances. Mr. Sullivan's father, Michael, was born in the Parish of Dinmaer, County Kerry, Ireland, in 1830. When of age he came to New York, and was there married in 1852, to Ann Hogan, a native of County Carlow, Ireland. He settled near Mazeppa in 1850. He subsequently removed to Chester, where he now lives.
