Whaley, Uriah, was born in New York in 1826. At the age of nineteen he
left his home in the east and has spent his whole life in the west. He was
two years in the service of the government, with the 8th Minn., and was in
some of the principal battles of the war. Mr. Whaley has a family of eight
children. He has always been a hard-working and industrious man, being
engaged in farming in early days, but now an employee of the Chicago,
Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad Company.
