The remains of Mrs. Chloe Hewitt, who died at Butte, Mont., on the 11th inst. were brought to Lake City last thursday evening for internment, the funeral service being held from the Methodist church here Friday morning. The deceased was a former resident of Lake City, coming here with her husband, the late Alfred Hewitt in 1880 and remaining here for many years until after the death of Mr. Hewitt in 1904. Since that time she has resided in Minneapolis and with her children in various parts of the country. visiting with her sons Merton and Roy at Butte. Mrs. Hewitt was born in Plymouth in 1849 being at the time of her death 74 years of age. There survive four sons and two daughters to mourn the loss of their mother, viz: Edwin of Texas, Wyman of Merrilan, Wis., Merton and Roy of Butte, Mont; Mrs. Douglas of Eau Claire, Wis. and Mrs. Estey of Minneapolis. The interment was made in the family lott in Lake Wood Cemetery, The services being conducted by Rev. Wm. Walder.
