He had been ill for several months. Mr. Holst was born July 11, 1892 in Goodhue County to Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Holst. He was married to the former Maude Heldt on October 11, 1927. He worked at the Rock Wool Plant in Red Wing and later became a self employed painter. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lake City. Survivors include widow; three daughters, Mrs. Harlan (Pearl) Halpaus, Rosemount, Mrs. Betty Burdick of Waseca, Minnesota, and Mrs. Gladys Kolb of Austin; 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Pastor Ralph Goede officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Steffenhagen, Gerald Wohlers, Wes Luikart, Edward Burfiend, Gary Lichtblau and Raymond Hinck. The Anderson Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
