Berryman Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic". 4/1957 Herman Herbst Dies on Saturday Herman Herbst, 59, died Saturday, April 6, 1957, at the Buena Vista rest home in Wabasha. He was born at Reeds on March 27, 1898 and lived in this area all his life. He married Ida Zell on March 30, 1921. For many years he was employed at the mill and the foundry in Lake City. Surviving are his wife, his mother, Mrs. May Herbst Yagen; two daughters, Mrs. Ed (Mildred) Bruske, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Marvel at home; two sons, Herman, East Rockaway, New York, and Ervin, with the Army at Fort Sheridan, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Rose) Mickow, Hammond, and Mrs. A. J. (Ida) Sunden, Montevideo, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist Church the Rev. A. Lloyd Asp officiating. Burial was in Lakewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ray Piank, Albert Lindeen, Larry Miller, Arthur Strawmatt, Dick Fick and John Prigge. Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic".
