Wilde, 89, Wabasha, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993 at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Nursing Home in Wabasha. She was born Ivanetta Sommers Aug. 4, 1904 in Oakwood Township, Wabasha County. She married William C. Wilde Oct. 4, 1922, in West Albany, Minnesota. The couple farmed in rural Millville until 1956, then they moved to Millville. The moved to Wabasha in 1976. She was a member of United Church of Christ, Wabasha. Previously she was a 25 year member of the Ladies' Aid at Grace United Church of Christ, Millville, where she also was a substitute organist for 25 years. She was the first leader of the West Albany Wild Cats 4-H Group, a Gold Star mother and a member of the Wabasha VFW Post 4086 Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Vivian (Arthur) LaRocque of Wabasha, and Geraldin (Bert) Luhman and Shirley (Robert) Overton of Rochester; three sons, Wilfred of Lake City, Leonard of Plainview, and Norman of Cheyenne, Wyoming; four sisters, Elsie (Herman) Herzig of Lake City, Bessie Fleming of ST. Paul, Margaret (Arnold) Oelkers of Zumbro Falls, and Helen Hippe of Hastings; one brother, Floyd Sommers of Minneapolis; 25 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, one brother, two sisters, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 22 at 11 am at the United Church of Christ, Wabasha, with the Rev. Jonathan Pia officiating. Burial will be in the Millville Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 pm to 8 pm Thursday (today) at Schleicher Funeral Home, Millville, and from 10 am to 11 am Friday at the Church.
