Berryman Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic". 4/1965 Mrs. Herbst Dies at 65 Mrs. Herman (Ida) Herbst, 65, lifetime Lake City resident, died Aug. 28 at Lake City Hospital following an extended illness. The former Ida Zell was born in Lake City Dec. 20, 1904 and was married in Wabasha in 1921 to Herman Herbst who died in 1957. Mrs. Herbst was a member of the United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary and Order of Royal Neighbors. Survivors are two sons, Herman of East Rockaway, New York and Erwin of White Bear Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mildred) Marznowicz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mrs. Francis (Marvel) Plank, Lake City; 17 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three brothers, Edward Zell of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Alfred and John Zell and one sister, Mrs. Phil (Bernice) Baker, all of Lake City. Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. The Rev. Robert Rollin conducted funeral services Monday at United Methodist Church. Burial was in Lakewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bernard Goihl, Ralph Heise, Bernie Roozen, Joe Schad, Cliff Sogla and Rolland Taylor. Arrangements were by Peterson- Sheehan Funeral Service.
