Services for the late Jacob Alfred Sanborn were conducted at the home Thursday afternoon of last week at 2 o'clock and later at the Swedish Baptist church, and was largely attended. Mr. Sanborn was born in Orebro, Sweden, Novemeber 22, 1841, and died at his home 221 North Prairie street in this city, on Sunday morning, April 27, after a short illness. He was married in Sweden 38 years ago to Anna Loise Spangberg, after arriving in Lake City and entered the employ of H.A. Young & Co., with whom he continued to work as a tailor up to the time of his late illness. Besides the widow, there survive eight children, Mrs. Jennie Carr and Harold Sanborn at home; H.A. Sanborn, Saginaw, Minn.; Mrs. B.F. Fowler, Two Harbors, Minn.; Mrs. M.B. Harkness, Tacoma, Wash.; Mrs. E.C. York and Miss Anna Sanborn, Winlock, Wash., and Dr. L.T. Sanborn Minneapolis. Five grandchildren also survive. Rev. A. Olson, of the Swedish Baptist church officated, assisted by Rev. C.H. Milelr of the Methodist church. Interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
