Berryman Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic". 10/1954 Joseph Kirtz Dies Suddenly at 54 Joseph Henry Kirtz, 54, died Jan. 14 enroute from his home in Belvidere Township to St. John's Hospital by ambulance. He was born July 23, 1916 in Wabasha County and was married to Evelyn Ohlhaber Oct. 8, 1940 in Lake City. He farmed in Belvidere Township since 1951 and in Wabasha County prior to that. Surviving are his widow; two sons, Donald at home and Dennis of Goodhue; his mother, Mrs. Nicholas (Theresa) Kirtz of Minneapolis; six brothers, Frank, Alvin and William of Lake City, Lester and Charles of Zion, Illinois and Elmer of Mautson, Wisconsin; one sister, Mrs. Roy (Bernetta) Klingsporn of St. Paul. Funeral services were conducted Monday by the Rev. Roger Sachs at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. Envaultment was in Oakwood with interment set for Evergreen Cemetery next spring. Pallbearers were Donald Bremer, Ferdinand Dahling, Robert Hawkinson, Howard Schafer, Norman and Merle Juers. Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic".
