Zell, 74, Lake City, died at his home March 7. He had been ill for the past two months. Mr. Zell was born April 22, 1901, in Zumbro Falls to Fred and Pauline Zell. He was married to Mabel Bade on Sept. 15, 1925, in Lake City. She died in 1953. On Oct. 26, 1957, he married Erna Petrich. He was employed at Tennant and Hoyt as a miller until he retired in 1966. Zell was a private in the Co. B 205th Infantry in the Minnesota National Guard from 1929 to 1931. Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Barbara) Roland of Bayport, Minnesota; three grandsons; one brother, Alfred Zell, Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Phil (Bernice) Baker, Reads Landing. His parents, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Pastor Ralph Goede officiated with burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were William, Bruce and John Baker, Willard and David Zell, and Theodore Kruempel.
