Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Martha J. Berryman Mrs. Maude Holst Dies at Age 82 Mrs. Maude Anna Holst, 82, Lake City, died October 4 at the Lake City hospital. Mrs. Holst, the former Maude Heldt, was born March 16, 1905, in Jacksonville, Wabasha County to Herman and Anna Roland Heldt. She married Ezra "Ben" Holst on October 11, 1927, in Red Wing. Mrs. Holst worked at Hotel Lyon and Royal Cafe. Mr. Holst preceded her in death on November 1, 1979. Survivors include three daughters, Pearl Halpaus, Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Betty Burdick, Waseca and Gladys Kaeb of Austin; 16 grandchildren; one brother John Heldt of Lake City and one sister, Helen Lott of Scalemound, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother. Funeral services were held at 2pm Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Ralph Goede officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Herman Theel, John Heldt, Wes Luikart, Harry Steffenhagen, Edward Burfiend and David Anderson.
