Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Shirley Panka LAKE CITY, MINNESOTA GAPHIC SENTINAL, 27 SEPTEMBER, 1898, PAGE 1 COLUMN 2 GONE TO REST Last week the sad news was received in this city that Marshall Gardner, one of the old time residents of this city, had died at Binghamton, N.Y., Monday afternoon. Deceased was born at Hartwick, Otsego Co., N.Y., in 1820, and was one of the early pioneers of this city. Last year he returned to to east for a visit among relatives at his old home. He was a man well thought of by all who knew him and a host of friends will join his bereaved wife in her hour of sorrow. Mr. Gardner is a brother-in-law of Dr. J. H. Harris of this city. The funeral occured Wednesday and the remains were laid to rest at Mt. Vision.
