Berryman Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic". 4/1953 Mrs. John Zell Dies on Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. John R. Zell, 48, will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm at the home and 2 pm in St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. T. H. Albrecht will officiate and interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Zell's death occurred at home about 4:30 pm Tuesday. She had been in failing health for the last three years and for three months had been confined to bed. The former Mabel Bade was born in Lake Township on February 15, 1905. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bade. Her entire life was spent in this community. On September 15, 1921 she was married to John Zell in St. John's Church here, Rev. Albrecht officiating. She was a member of St. John's Church and for 25 years was active in the missionary society of that church. Mrs. Zell is survived by her husband, one daughter, Barbara, at home, one sister, Mrs. Fred Stahmann, Wabasha, and one brother, Edwin Bade of Frontenac.
