AMBROSE GARDNER After a long illness Mrs. Ambrose Gardner closed her eyes in that silent sleep on Tuesday morning, September 1st, 1903, about eight o'clock. Cancer of the stomach was the cause of her demise and it was a great relief to her friends to see her go to sleep and know she was beyond the pain she had borne so bravely. Miss Nellie Marian Bean was born in Beaver Dam, Wis., on December 12th, 1850. She was united in marriage to Ambrose Gardner at Maxwell, Wis., on September 9th, 1866, and with her husband came to this county twenty-six years ago and has made it her home ever since. Mrs. Gardner was the mother of three children; William, of Chicago, George of Minneapolis, And Florence P. Gardner of this city. The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house, Rev. J.C. Craig of the M.E. church officiating. The memory of the sad death of Mr. Gardner still lingers fresh in the memory of the many friends and it was thought then she could live but a short time. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community, yet none could wish her back to suffer. Deceased was a woman loved by all who knew her in her days of health for she was ever kind and tender.
