Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Ken Bayliss Patrick Lee (b. 1850, County Galway, Ireland) According to his obituary dated April 28, 1910, in the Kellogg Enterprise, Patrick was born in Ireland in 1856--though his headstone would suggest the year 1850. His obituary stated: "Patrick Lee Departs This Life--For 26 years He was a Highly Respected Resident of This Village. Patrick Lee a resident of Kellogg for the past twenty-six years died at his home here Saturday April 23. Mr. Lee was born in County Galway, Ireland in 1856 twenty-six years ago, because of conditions existing in his native land and not willing to submit longer to oppression he with his wife and family sought freedom in a new land. For twenty-six years he has been an honored citizen of our community, hard working honest man that he was, careful of every act and deed lest he offended anyone. He was ready to extend a helping hand to those in need, was a good husband a loving father and a model citizen, although dead and gone his memory will live. He leaves besides his sorowing widow nine children as follows Mrs. Moore of St. Paul, John of Fargo, N.D., Winnie and Margaret of St. Paul, Bridget, Anna, Agnes, Patrick and Martin at home. All of whom were present at the last. The funeral was held Monday from St. Agnes church, where Requiem Mass was said by Fr. Culliton assisted by Fr. Pudenz as deacon, Fr. English as subdeacon. A very touching sermon was delivered by Fr. English of Winona. Interment was in the new cemetery here, at home. Those who were in attendance at the burial from away were: F.H. Lee Staples, Minn, Mrs. Pat Mulcurrn and daughter Emelia of St. Paul, Mrs. Ann McDonough of St. Paul, Mrs. Thos. Powers of Fargo, N.D., Miss Catherine Lee Denison, Minn., and J.D. McDonough Fargo, N.D.
