Berryman Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic". 1/1960 Mrs. Pauline Zell, Dies Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Zell were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church today at 10:30. She died at the Pepin View Nursing Home Tuesday, January 19, where she had been a patient since May. She would have been 81 years old next month. The Father Henry Russell officiated with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. The former Pauline Halpaus was born in West Albany on February 10, 1879. She was married to Fred Zell on April 16, 1900 in Wabasha and the couple farmed in the West Albany area for a number of years before moving to Lake City. Survivors include three sons, John and Alfred of lake City and Edward of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; two daughters: Mrs. Ida Herbst and Mrs. Phil (Bernice) Baker of Lake City; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1936, and three sons and one daughter. Pallbearers were six nephews: Joseph Geisler, John Halpaus, Paul Till, Howard Halpaus, Arnold Zell and Walter Wempner. -----
