Berryman Note: This obituary was taken from the newspaper "The Lake City Graphic". 1/1980 Mrs. Bill Kirtz Dies at Age 60 Mrs. Bill (Virginia) Kirtz, 60, Lake City, died at the Lake City Hospital Jan. 17 following cancer surgery. Mrs. Kirtz, the former Virginia Harstedt, was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Clam Falls, Wisconsin, to John and Mary Harstedt. She was married to Bill Kirtz on Aug. 10, 1940, in Lake City. Mrs. Kirtz graduated from Lake City High School in 1937. She was a former employee of B. W. Harris Company. Survivors include her widower; one son, Richard, Hastings; one daughter, Mrs. Del (Judy) Getchell of Lake City; eight grandchildren; and her mother. Her father and one brother preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday at United Methodist Church. Pastor Paul Munion officiated with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roland Taylor, Bill Kehren, Elmer, Al, Bob and Lester Kirtz. The Peterson-Sheehan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
