Plainview News August 28, 1958 page 4. H H Wempner Dies At Home A lifetime resident of Plainview and vicinity, Herman Henry Wempner, 65, died in his home here Monday evening. August 25, 1958 after a lingering illness. He operated the Pump and Windmill service in Plainview. Mr. Wempner, son of Henry and Katherine (Zell) Wempner, was born Feb 8, 1893 in Plainview Township. He married the former Theresa Lyons May 16, 1917, and she died in 1918. On June 24, 1935, he married the former Honor Carpenter in St Joachim's Catholic Church here. He is survived by his wife; a son, Clair of Plainview; a daughter Mrs. Ray Nunamaker of Plainview; three brothers, Albert and Paul of West Allis, Wis, and Walter of Zumbro Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Aiden Carpenter of Plainview and Miss Elsie and Miss Hattie Wempner of Rochester, and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Thursday in St Joachim's Catholic Church, with the Rev Leo Neudecker of Conception officiating. Burial will be in SS Peter and Paul's Catholic Cemetery at Conception. Pallbearers will be six nephews of Mr. Wempner, Henry and Marvin Wempner, Francis and Steve Carpenter, James Harlan and Matthew Lyons. The rosary was received at 8 pm Wednesday at the Wempner home Johnson and Schriever Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
