The Jordan Independent Thursday December 19, 1912 page 1. Obituary of Mrs. Wendell Mrs. Johanna Wendell died at the home of her son, J H Wendell, in Louisville township, on the 7th inst., following an illness of several months with cancer of the stomach. Her funeral occurred on the 10th. Rev Eggers of Jordan conducted a service at the house, after which the remains were conveyed to East Union, Rev Stone officiating at the ceremonies there. Deceased was born in Sweden in the year 1841. There she grew up and married, herself and husband emigrating to America in 1871, residing ever since on the farm in Louisville township where she died, Her husband preceded her to the grave by 27 years. The surviving descendants are the son above mentioned, four daughters and fifteen grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. A Novotny of Sand Creek township, Mrs. Wm Bandy of Volga, SD, Mrs. John Nagel of Shakopee and Mrs. Albert Hertig of Milaca, Minn.
