Boen, 91, lifetime resident of Long Lake township, died at Pleasant view retirement center Friday morning after an illness of seven years. Complications of old age contributed to his death. Funeral service was at Long Lake Lutheran church Sunday afternoon with Rev.. Paul Sorlien officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Boen is survived by his wife, the former Mathilda Henderson. He was born in Long Lake township on April 28 1880, attended school in old district No. 32, and was married on June 15 1908. A farmer, he was treasurer of the township board for 43 years, and also served as trustee of Long Lake Lutheran church board. His hobbies included playing musical instruments. Organist at Sunday’s service was Miss Irene Olson and singing was by a men’s quartet. Pallbearers were Harold Devens, Leonard Larson, Ted Olson, Donald Ottum, Gilbert Olson and Elmer Wassmann. Jensen-Watonwan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
