Brooks Answers Summons Mrs. Harrison (Harry) W. Brooks one of Madelia's kindest and best loved women, Passed away at home in this village at about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 1946. In the latter part of February of this year Mrs. Brooks suffered a stroke and she had been confined to her bed most of the time since then. Ticia [Frohling] Brooks was born at Ridott, Illinois, Nov.23, 1878. At the age of six years she moved with her parents to Belmont, Iowa, where she attended school and grew to womanhood. At that place, on October 8, 1896, she was married to Harrison Wesley Brooks and in 1926 the family moved to Madelia, Minnesota where they have since made their home. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks were the parents of ten children. A son Harold, and a daughter, Mrs. Elwy Graham died in 1928. Left to mourn the lose of a faithful wife and a fond and a loving mother are Mr.Brooks and the following children; Mrs. Sylvia Maitland of Beloit, Wisconsin; Cyrus, of Shabbona, Ill; Edward of Washington, Mo; Lloyd of Aurora, Ill; Oliver of Wedron, Ill; Paul, James and Warren, of Dekalb, Ill; Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren and one sister. A grandson, Robert (Bobbie) D. Brooks Graham, whom his grandmother raised and cared for, died in 1939. Mrs. Brooks was a faithful member of, and Sunday school teacher in the Baptist church. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid and of the Missionary Society. She was held in the highest respect of all who knew her and her departure from this life is mourned by many admiring friends. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Robert F. Kittrell, a former pastor of a local Baptist church, now of Algona, Iowa, will be held at the Brooks home at 1:30 and at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock this Friday afternoon.
