FileFormat by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: Judy Submitted: June 2004 ========================================================================= Watonwan County Plaindealer 31 July 1958 Page 2:4 Walter Henderson rites at Long Lake Funeral services were held Wednesday at Long Lake Lutheran church for Henry Walter Henderson, longtime resident and retired Watonwan county farmer, who died 20 July after a two-year illness. Death was attributed to hardening of the arteries. Service were conducted by Rev. A. T. Daniels. Internment was in Long Lake cemetery. Special music was provided by the men’s quartet. Pallbearers were Carl Olson, Tinus Olsen, Gardner Linn, Rudolph Wenstrom, Arvid Spong and Harold Devens. Walter was born June 7, 1884 in Iowa, a son of Martin and Christine Henderson. The family moved to a Kansas Lake farm the following year. He was educated in District 19, and farmed until retirement four years ago, when he moved to 704 Armstrong Boulevard South in St. James. The deceased was baptized and confirmed in the Long Lake church by Rev. _. P. Thorkveen. Surviving are three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Lewis Boen, Marie H enderson, Philip Henderson and Thomas Henderson, all of St. James, and Mrs. Ernest Guggisberg of St. Paul, also four nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur and Roger.
