Funeral service was held at the West Sveadahl church Sunday morning last, with Rev. C. W. Samuelson in charge. The floral contributions were many and beautiful. The deceased was born in Sweden sixty-seven years ago. He came to this country in 1869 and settled on a farm in this community. He leaves to morn his loss a wife, who is at present confined to a hospital, and five children. One daughter died five years ago. Those living are: Chas. E., Edward W.., Mrs. Arthur Wing, Anna and Minnie; and furthermore, five brothers and one sister. They are: Samuel and Emma, residing in Sweden; John, Andrew D., and Otto, of this place, and August Swanson of St. Paul. The deceased died from the dreadful disease of cancer and had been at the Olson hospital of Minneapolis, for nearly a year. The remains were laid to rest at the West Sveadahl cemetery. Swanson was born in Ohr, Konobergs Lan, Sweden, Oct. 12, 1849, and came to America in the year 1869, settling in Sveadahl. He was married in 1880, and is survived by his wife and five children, as follows: Carl Emil, Addie William, Sophia Olivia, now Mrs. Arthur Wing of Harlem, Mont., Anna Irene, also of Harlem, Mont., and Minnie Mathilda. There are five brothers and one sister, whose names and places of residences are; J. M. Swanson of East Sveadahl, A. D. Swanson of East Sveadahl, Otto Swanson of St. James, August Swanson of St. Paul, Samuel Swanson of Sweden, and Emma, also living in Sweden. There are eight grandchildren. Mr. Swanson became afflicted with cancer of the face about a year ago and was taken to a private hospital in Minneapolis last April, at which institution he died on Jan. 6th. The funeral was held at the Sveadahl church on Sunday, Jan. 9th, Rev. C. W. Samuelson conducting the services, and taking for his text John 10:11. The church choir furnished the music, and the remains were interred in the Sveadahl cemetery. The pall bearers were: Messrs. Alfred, Gustaf, Fred, Bernhard, Willard and Victor Samuelson.
