Burmeister, 90, of Winona passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona. She was born on Sept. 9, 1923, in Winona, the daughter of Cecil and Mary Ellen "Mayme" (Dugan) Baldwin. She was united in marriage with Fred W. Burmeister on Feb. 9, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona; he preceded her in death Nov. 12, 2001. Mary will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker who was a loving wife, mom and grandma. She was an active member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, where she served as a eucharistic minister for many years. Mary enjoyed spending her time volunteering for many different organizations in the Winona area, and visiting with her family and friends. Mary is lovingly survived by her children, Bill (Karen) Burmeister, Buffalo City, Wis., Fred D. (Helen) Burmeister, West Newton, Minn., Maribeth Michaelis, Winona, and John (Kim) Burmeister, Hopkins, Minn.; grandchildren, Aaron (Karen) Burmeister; Molly Christianson, Audra (Ray) Spreeman, Emily Burmeister, Annie Burmeister, Trapper Burmeister, Chris (Jana) Korder, Nathan (Shana) Korder, Claire Burmeister and Jack Burmeister; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Will Burmeister, Mackenzie, Abigail and Elizabeth Christianson, Macy Burmeister, and Carson, Samuel and Devin Korder; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a grandson, Joseph Burmeister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, in Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona. The Rev. Monsignor Richard M. Colletti will officiate. Mary will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of the Mass Thursday, July 31, in Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
