Hanson, farmer, Monticello township, was born in the township where he still lives, February 22, 1882, son of Peter and Hannah (Silk) Hanson, natives of Denmark, who came to America about 1872, lived awhile in Steele county, in this state, and then came to Wright county. The father died in April, 1892, and the mother now lives in Monticello. In the family there were six children: Sophia (deceased); Frank (deceased); Mary, wife of Albert James, of Monticello; Frank L.; Rose, at home; and Elizabeth, wife of Jacob Stengelin, of Monticello. Mr. Hanson has devoted his life to farming. He operates the home place in section 32, which he has named "Meadow Lawn," and in addition to this he owns and operates seventy-one acres in section 24. In politics he is a Democrat. Mr. Hanson was married, June 18, 1903, to Elizabeth Sutherland, daughter of Edwin and Margaret Sutherland, and they have one son, Albert Clayton. The family faith is that of the Methodist Episcopal church.
