Partridge, the found of Fair Haven village, in Stearns county, just over the line from wright county, was born in Ohio in 1816. He was educated as a Baptist clergyman, but upon coming to Stearns county in 1856 he became a farmer. He took a very active part in the affairs of the village and township, and was a leading man in every respect. After a long residence here moved to Indiana. His latter years were spent in farming and in preaching. Mr. Partridge married Caroline O. Root, and they had four children: Payson P., of Berrysville, Ark.; Velona C.; Cecil C. (deceased); and Florous B. (deceased). Velona C. married J. B. Vandervort, and they live in Wilmington, Ohio.
