In some instances I’ve copied big chunks of these obits, in others I’ve just listed the names. In every instance I’ve listed the newspaper source and date. Born Kings county Ire, Dec 28, 1834. Emigrated w/ his parents in 1847 to Rawdon, Montcalm county, Canada. Came to MN in 1865. Married Ellen Grattan in St. Paul Oct 30, 1856. Five children, Joseph, James, Mary, John and Peter. Mrs. Doherty died in 1876, John in 1885 and Joseph in 1892. Besides his 3 living children he leaves 3 brothers, Maurice, Patrick and Peter, and 4 sisters, Mrs. P. Daly, Mrs. Jas. Holtby, Mrs. E. Mullen and Mrs. A. Dougherty.
