Miss Ricker was born in maine, March 21st, 1842, the daughter of Moses and Eliza Ricker. With her parents she came to Otsego, Minn., at the age of 14 years and settled upon a homestead. She moved into her Champlin home in 1882 and except for a month or two at one time, had lived in that home until obliged to go to the hospital in Minneapolis for medical care. Her parents spent the last 15 years of their lives with her and died in her home in Champlin as did two of her brothers and one sister. She also cared for three of her aquaintances during their last illness until they also passed away in her home. Miss Ricker was an active member in the Methodist Episcopal church since early childhood and a regular attendant and teacher in the Sunday school. She was active in the Ladies Aid Society, a regulat attendant at the mid-week prayer meeting, one of the stewards and treasurer of the shurch as long as her health permitted her to attend to these duties. Her time, talent and money were consecrated to the Master's service. Like Enoch of old it can be truthfully said that she walked with God and is not for God took her. The funeral was held in the Champlin Methodist church Sunday afternoon when a large number were present, many coming from outside towns. Rev. R. A. Saunderson of Minneapolis, a former pastor and Rev. Robinson of the Champlin Methodist church, officiated. Her remains were laid to rest with those of her relatives in the Champlin cemetery.
