The historical society could not find any for his wife Sarah Fleming Wood. They are both buried in the Otsego Cemetary. I have also attached photos of Adam & Sarah Wood. A separate mailing will have their Otsego home taken about 1885. Eileen Gardiner ADAM WOOD DIES - 1917 Another One of Wright County's Pioneers Joins the Silent Majority Adam Wood will came to Wright County in 1858 with his parents when a babe and who has lived here ever since, died very suddenly on Monday afternoon April 3, from a severe attack of the pleurisy that affected his heart. If that lived until May next he would have been 59 years old. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the M E Church under the suspices of Monticello Lodge A. F. and A. M. of which he was a member. Members from Elk River Lodge of which he was a member years ago, and the lodges (not legible), Frankford and Clearwater are expected to be present. The (not legible) will be held and an at rest in Riverside. Mr. Wood came to Wright County in 18?0, settling in Otsego where he lived until about three years ago when he moved to the old Porter farm about three miles west of that village. He served as supervisor of Otsego for twelve years, constable for 20 years, was a member of the Legislature three terms, 1903-05-07, and was assistant sergeant of the House of Representatives in the session of 1909. He was a successful and prosperous farmer, a staunch Republican all his life, being active in party councils of Wright County many years. He served several terms as deputy sheriff and made an excellent official. He will be missed by many friends in Wright and Sherburne counties. He is mourned by his widow and one son, Horace, of Monticello Village. His funeral which was held this afternoon and was attended by a large number of friends and neighbors who gathered here to pay their dead neighbor and friend their last respects. ========================================================================= Copyright Eileen Gardiner 2005.
