J. Wood, Sr and his son James. This is the A. J. Wood that is buried in the Otsego Cemetary. There is a lot in the Riverside Cemetary Monticello that the folowing Wood family members are buried at. Wood, Jr Sarah Fleming Wood Freddy Wood (son of AJ and transferred from Otsego when the Riverside property was purchased) Horace Wood (son of AJ) Gertrude Wood Florence Wood Backen Keay (my mother and daughter of Horace) James Keay Ruth Wood Gillham (mother's sister) James Gillham (Ruth's son) Death Claims James W. Wood, 95, at Little Falls, Minn. James R. Wood, 95, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lena Rolph. Funeral services were held there on Thursday following. Burial was made in the old Green Prairie cemetery, a Camp Ripley, with the Rev. George K. Kaslow officiating. The deceased was born in Canada on July 10, 1853, and came to Minnesota, then the territory, when a year old. He settled in this vicinity and was married to Nellie B. Bolby in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She preceded him in death in 1887. In the early days Mr. Wood served as pony express mail carrier, carrying the mail between St. Cloud and Crow Wing. He also surveyed the hearwaters of the Mississippi. A son preceded Mr. Wood in death. A brother, Alfred, it is a resident of the Old Soldier's Home, port Snelling, and a brother, Edwin, lives in California.
