ANDERSON (1872) Christian O. Anderson, a Sioux Agency farmer, has spent the whole forty-two years of his life in that precinct. He is the son of two of the oldest settlers of the county, Ole Anderson, who still lives in Sioux Agency, and Christie (Iverson) Anderson, who died when Christian was two years old. The subject of this review was born in the log cabin on the old home place in November, 1872. He received his education in the district school and lived at home until he attained his majority. Then he started out in life for himself, engaging in farming near the old home. In 1899 he bought his present forty-acre farm, the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of section 11, erected buildings on it and has since made his home there. In addition to his own land, Mr. Anderson farms the P. O. Kollin home farm. He has served as road overseer of his district for the past ten years. He and his family are members of the Rock Valley Norwegian Lutheran church of Sioux Agency township. Mr. Anderson was married in Sioux Agency township June 7, 1892, to Lena Harried. She is a daughter of the late Ole and Christie Harried and was born in Redwood county January 8, 1876. The Andersons have eight children: Oscar, born April 24, 1893; Clara, born April 17, 1895; Carl, born January 29, 1898; Elmer, born September 6, 1900; Clarence, born January 22, 1903; Arlie, born December 28, 1905; Marvel, born February 24, 1908; and Orin, born April 30, 1910.
