Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: LaNaye Hennen ANDREW VAARDAHL (1905) Andrew Vaardahl came direct to Yellow Medicine county from Norway just as soon as he had attained his majority, landing at Hanley Falls on the third day of May, 1905. Mr. Vaardahl farmed in that vicinity several years and in 1911 located on his present place in Stony Run township, the northwest quarter of section 34. He rents the place but keeps everything up in good shape and raises some stock. Mr. Vaardahl was born in Norway December 3, 1884. He attended the schools there, including the high school course of that country. He worked in a woolen mill later, and then he heard the call of the Great West and immigrated to America. His parents, O. I. and Ingebor (Fussesen) Olsen, were born January 19, 1838, and in 1841, respectively. Andrew is a member of the United Lutheran church and belongs to the Equity Society. Mr. Vaardahl was married in 1907 to Berthina Zodlund, a daughter of J. O. and Carlina Zodlund, who came to this county from Norway about forty years ago and located in Chippewa county.
