FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: LaNaye Hennen Submitted: Mar 2002 ========================================================================= ADOLPH BOETTCHER (1888) Adolph Boettcher, Burton township farmer, was born in Germany February 6, 1883, a son of Gottfried and Johanna (Miller) Boettcher, now residents of Bellevue, Washington. The Boettcher family came to America in 1884, farmed in Illinois a few years, and came to Yellow Medicine county in 1888. The head of the family bought the southeast quarter of section 14, Burton township, and engaged in farming it many years. Adolph was brought up on that farm, and in 1907 he rented the home farm and has since operated it. He raises stock and engages in farming along up-to-date lines. His plowing is done by a Hackney auto plow. Mr. Boettcher is clerk of school district No. 74. Mr. Boettcher was married in Yellow Medicine county February 23, 1907, to Margretta Hay, who was born in the county June 14, 1883. She is a daughter of John and Etta (Shepherd) Hay, natives, respectively, of New York and Wisconsin and now residents of Burton township. Source: A History of Yellow Medicine County by Arthur P.
