Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: LaNaye Hennen ========================================================================= HENRY BOFENKAMP (1885) Henry Bofenkamp is a farmer of Omro township residing a short distance west from St. Leo. He farms the southeast quarter of section 31, which is the property of his mother, and he has lived on that farm since he was two years old. Mr. Bofenkamp was born in Scott county, Minnesota, May 10, 1883. His father, John Bofenkamp, was born in Germany in 1853, came to America at the age of two years, and died in Yellow Medicine county in 1896. Our subjects mother, Cathrina (Solheid) Bofenkamp, now Mrs. Link, was born in Germany on the last day of the year 1855 and came to America in 1866. She now resides in St. Leo. Henry accompanied his parents to Yellow Medicine county in 1885, and his father bought the present farm, upon which he lived until his death. Henry was brought up on the home farm and was educated in the district school. Since September 1906, he has been farming the place for himself. Mr. Bofenkamp is a member of the St. Leo Catholic church and of the Catholic Benevolent Society. Anna Baierl became the wife of Henry Bofenkamp July 11, 1911, the ceremony being performed in St. Leo. She was born in Burton township November 19, 1890. Mr. and Mrs. Bofenkamp have one child, Susie, born October 17, 1912. Source: "A History of Yellow Medicine County" by Arthur P. Rose Published 1914
