They make a specialty of hog raising and have a fine herd. Mr. Froland was born in Norway September 14, 1882. He came across the water and to Yellow Medicine county in 1903. For three years he worked by the month for Lars Moe, two years for Mr. Sheggby, one summer for Will Barber, and one year for another farmer in Echo township. In 1909 he formed a partnership with Mr. Molver and has since been in business for himself. Francis Froland, the father of our subject, is a carpenter and works at his trade in Norway. His mother is Georgina (Moe) Froland. Steve Froland has three brothers in the United States. He is a member of the Rock Valley Norwegian Lutheran church.
