Rose Published 1914 GEORGE TIMM (1891) George Timm who, in partnership with his brother, Max Timm, is running the family farm on sections 34 and 27, Posen township, is a native son of the county, having been born on the farm February 12, 1891. February 12, 1893, is the birth date of Max Timm. The name Timm is an old and prominent one in Yellow Medicine County, and a great many acres of Posen township land are owned by the family. Mr. and Mrs. August Timm, the parents of George and Max, were natives of Germany and Pennsylvania, the father having been born in the old country and the mother in Philadelphia. At the age of fourteen years August Timm came to the United States and located at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. On reaching his majority he moved to Rochester, Minnesota, where he homesteaded eighty acres of land. In the seventies he came to Yellow Medicine county, and from that time until the day of his death in April, 1910, the Timm farm in Posen was his home, living there continuously over thirty years. Mrs. Timm is still living, making her home with her children. George and Max Timm grew up on the Posen township farm, and in the district school they received their education. There all their boyhood days were spent, and since the death of their father they have been running the place for their mother. The other members of the Timm family are Julius, William, Paul, Cornelia, Tillie, Lena, Augusta and Ella. One child, Laura is deceased. Source: "A History of Yellow Medicine County" by Arthur P.
