Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: LaNaye Hennen ========================================================================= OLE GUSTAFSON (1881) Ole Gustafson, who farms a rented 240 acres on section 1, Tyro township, was born in Sweden April 17, 1869. He is the son of Jacob and Elsie (Olson) Gustafson, natives of that country, who came to the United States in 1881. The subject of this sketch lived in Sweden until twelve years of age. Then with his parents he came to Yellow Medicine county, locating on a farm in Swede Prairie township, where he lived until 1904. His education was secured in both Swedish and English, getting several years of schooling before leaving the old country and finishing in Yellow Medicine county. He grew up on the farm, working for his parents until of age, after which he started in for himself. He moved to Aitkin county, where he bought land and farmed three years. He then located in Wilkin county, and for four years was engaged in farming at that point. His parents died in Wilkin county in 1909. He then returned to Yellow Medicine county and moved to his present place, which he rents. Mr. Gustafson served several years as constable of Swede Prairie township. He is a member of the Swedish Lutheran church of Clarkfield. On March 22, 1892, in Granite Falls, Mr. Gustafson was married to Manda Johnson, who was born in Malmo, Sweden, January 4, 1875. They have ten children, namely: Ellen, Anna, Ida, Carl, Hulda, Agnes, Oscar, George, Arthur and Alice. Source: "A History of Yellow Medicine County" by Arthur P. Rose Published 1914
