Rose Published 1914 HANS ENGEBRETSON (1876) Hans Engebretson manager of the Farmers Elevator and Supply Company of Canby, has lived in Yellow Medicine county since he was a year old. He is a son of Gulbran and Karoline (Johnson) Engebretson, who were born in Norway, came to America in 1873, lived in Iowa until 1876, and since that time in Yellow Medicine County. The subject of this sketch was born in Worth county, Iowa, February 23, 1875, and the following year accompanied his parents to Yellow Medicine county. He was educated in the public schools and assisted with the work on the home farm until 1899. For a short time thereafter he was manager of the Farmers Produce Company at Burr. In 1901 he located in Canby and has since been manager of the Farmers Elevator and Supply Company. The company deals in all kinds of grain and sells coal and twine. Mr. Engebretson was married in Canby May 5, 1912, to Rena Swenson, who was born in Yellow Medicine County and who is the daughter of the late Charles Swenson and Margaret (Iverson) Swenson, now of Canby.
