Wilson is the owner of a half section of Yellow Medicine county real estate--eighty acres on section 36, Lisbon township, and 240 acres in Friendship township,--all of which he is farming. Mr. Wilson was born in Columbia county, Wisconsin, November 27, 1857. He is a son of Gullick and Esther (Evgie) Wilson, natives of Norway, who came to the United States in early life and located in Wisconsin. The father died in Yellow Medicine county in 1886, and here the mother also died, in Hazel Run village in 1908. Hans G. Wilson grew to manhood and was educated in the schools of Columbia county, Wisconsin. In 1879 he came to Yellow Medicine county and pre-empted his eighty acres on section 36, where he has since made his home. The place is now finely improved, including a large orchard. Since taking up his residence in Yellow Medicine county he has several times added to his lands. In 1885 he made his first addition, purchasing an eighty in Friendship township; in 1891 he added another eighty acres in Friendship; and in 1909 he added another eighty acres in Friendship. This gives him an even half section of land. For the past eleven years Mr. Wilson has held the office of assessor of Lisbon township, and he held the office of clerk of school district No. 26 about twelve years. He and his family belong to Norwegian Lutheran church of Stony Run township. Mr. Wilson was married June 29, 1883, at Bergen Church, Stony Run township, to Elsie Sorenson. She was born in Norway and came to the United States when about eight years old. Her parents are both living in Yellow Medicine county. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have the following children: Gerhard, born January 17, 1885; Inanda, born May 5, 1887; Selmer, born August 8, 1889; Henry, born November 19, 1891; Alden, born July 17, 1897.
