He has lived on that place more than a quarter of a century. Mr. Hogsven was born in Norway April 28, 1882, the son of Hans Hogsven, who died in Yellow Medicine county in 1902, and Ingeborg Hogsven, who still lives in the township. He came from the old country in 1887, the head of the family buying the farm now owned by the son. He was educated in the school of district No. 65 and in boyhood days worked for his father. After his father's death he continued on the place and became the owner of it in 1906. In Granite Falls, Mr. Hogsven was united in marriage to Elisa Iverson. She is a daughter of Ole S. and Ella Iverson, of Sioux Agency, and was born in the township March 17, 1890. Mr. and Mrs. Hogsven have three children: Hilma, born May 17, 1905; Selmer, born April 18, 1907; and Inga, born February 20, 1909. Source: A History of Yellow Medicine County by Arthur P. Rose.
