Mr. Iverson is a native of South Dakota, having been born at Gary, Deuel county, September 15, 1880. He grew to manhood on his father's homestead. In September, 1905, he began farming for himself on land he bought in that county. He farmed the place until the fall of 1910, when he moved to Porter and bought L. Olson & Son's hardware store, since which time he has continued the business. He carries a fine stock of hardware, tinware, furniture, harnesses, pumps, jewelry, etc. Mr. Iverson was married at Canby September 16, 1905, to Clara Jensen. She was born in Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, June 26, 1880, is a daughter of Martin and Maria Jensen. They have four boys and three girls, viz: Clara (Mrs. Carl Iverson), of Porter; Josie (Mrs. A. C. Westby), of Porter; Melva (Mrs. E. E. Erickson), of Red Lodge, Montana; Ebert, a farmer near Gary, South Dakota; Henry, Jesse and Guy. Mrs. Iverson was a teacher several years. Mr. And Mrs. Iverson are members of the United Norwegian Lutheran church. Mr. Iverson is a son of Christ and Carrie Iverson, who were born in Norway. They are now living in Deuel county, South Dakota. There were six boys and one girl in the family: Carl, Martin, Adolph, Clara, Alvin, Christ and Thor.
