He is the second son of Elef E. and Martha (Waner) Quenroe, early settlers of and still residents of Yellow Medicine county. Emil was educated in the public schools and worked for his father on the farm until twenty-four years of age. Then he and a brother rented land and farmed in partnership, and Emil has since conducted his present place, consisting of 240 acres on section 5. Mr. Quenroe and his wife are members of the Norwegian Lutheran church of Canby. Mary Severson became the wife of Emil Quenroe on May 10, 1911. She was born in Norway and came to the United States in 1903. Mr. and Mrs. Quenroe have one child, Alden, born August 18, 1912. Source: A History of Yellow Medicine County by Arthur P. Rose.
