GREVSTAD (1899) Who owns and farms the northeast quarter of section 4, Swede Prairie township, was born in Sukelven, Sondmor, Norway, August 8, 1881. He lived in his native land until past seventeen years of age, coming to America in 1899. For three years young Grevstad worked out near Echo; then he bought his Swede Prairie farm. He has made all the improvements the farms boasts and has a well improved farm. He raises Poland China hogs and other stock. Mr. Grevstad is treasurer of school district No. 104. He has stock in the Farmers Elevator Company of Clarkfield. Mr. Grevstad is a single man, and his sister Cornolea keeps house for him. His parents are Lars and Hannah (Hanson) Grevstad, of Norway. The other children of the family are Sigvart, who works for his brother; Svare, who lives in Norway; and Cornolea, Hannah, Clara, and Mary. Source: "A History of Yellow Medicine County" by Arthur P.
