FileFormatted by Terri--MNArchives Made available to The USGenWeb Archives by: LaNaye Hennen Submitted: Mar 2002 ========================================================================= JOHN ALBERT TOLLEFSON (1877) John Albert Tollefson who owns the northeast quarter of section 35, Friendship township, in partnership with his father, is a native son of Yellow Medicine county, his birth having occurred in Sandness township September 25, 1877. The parents of Mr. Tollefson, Tollef and Annie Sophie (Dalve) Tollefson, are among the very earliest settlers of the county; for more than forty years they have made their home on the old homestead in Sandnes township. John Albert has spent his entire life in Yellow Medicine county. He lived with his parents until twenty-nine years of age, working for his father, a part of the time farming the present place in partnership with him. He was educated in the school of district No. 9. In 1906 he moved to his present place, all the improvements on which have been made by him. He is a member of Hauge's Church, of Normania township. Mr. Tollefson was married March 4, 1908, in Hazel Run township, to Amanda Salina Tongen, who was born in Hazel Run township in October 1887. They have three children, born as follows: Almira Sonora, October 11, 1908; Truman Orlin, December 27, 1909; and Leverna Millicent, February 24, 1913.
