Sketch of the Stephenson Family, Audrain County, Missouri >From "A History of the Pioneer Families of Missouri, with numerous sketches, anecdotes, adventures, etc., relating to Early Days in Missouri" by William S. Bryan and Robert Rose, Published by Bryan, Brand & Co., St. Louis Missouri, 1876. ********************************************************************** Hugh Stephenson, of Ireland, settled in Pennsylvania, and fought under Washington during the Revolutionary War. His children were: John, Hugh, Richard and Marcus. The three latter also served in the Revolu- tionary War. Marcus married Agnes Hinkson, and they had: Polly, Eliz- abeth, Hugh, Nancy, Marcus, Peggy and Garret. Mr. Stephenson removed to Missouri in 1807, and died in 1814, while on his way to Howard County. His widow afterward married Thomas Reynolds, of Kentucky, and died in 1865. Garret, son of Marcus Stephenson, married Effie A.
